Introduction to this Blog

Hi there, my name is Cooper, and lately, I've been thinking up a whole lot of ideas concerning my future. What sort of future, you say? Well, I'll show you. I have been making a list of goals in which I will complete. Some of the goals include: Discovering my own animal, visiting every continent, graduating from college, getting A's in every class and more! This is part of a school project I'm doing* and hey, why not make a blog? I'll be picking five goals to focus on in this post and I'll explain what I'm doing (or will do) to achieve them.

Goal #1: Pass Every Test. I try to do my absolute best when it comes to my intelligence. In fact, in my opinion, intelligence is the most important thing someone can have. But unfortunately, try as I might, as a human I tend to make mistakes and slip up every now and then. This is not only advice for me, but advice for everyone out there who has to take tests. To start with, this is probably the most important aspect: DO YOUR RESEARCH. No matter what person you look at, Albert Einstein to Nikola Tesla, they all had to do their research before doing any wacky experiments. They did not just say "Hey, if I connect these two wires, something cool will happen."; they had to do their research just like the rest of us. The results of doing your research is much better than if you do it freehand. The short term step is to research, but the long term step is to actually retain what you have learned.

Goal #2: Always Help Where You Can. This can be especially hard to do if you feel unappreciated, but the results will pay off. The people around you will see what you are doing, and they will feel grateful for your efforts. For me, I usually start by asking: "Do you need any help?" That's the first step, but it's a short term step. If they reply no, don't worry, you will get your chance. If yes, great! That most likely means that they could use a hand and that they trust you to help. This is also a short term step. The long term step, if there is any, is keeping your promises and actually doing what they need of you. Furthermore, don't just do it for your friends or family, do it for someone you don't know. A good attitude can lead a long way towards being appreciated.

Goal #3: Graduate From College. So far, this will probably be the most difficult goal on my list. Hey, where are you going? Don't give up just because of the word "difficult". Difficult just means it will pay off greater than if you did the easy work! This goal goes hand-in-hand with the "Pass Every Test" goal, as it relates to doing great in your educational areas. As before, study hard, work hard, and do not forget to have a positive attitude. First, I'll apply for college, that's the easy, short term step. Then I'll have to make sure I do the long term step, keeping focused, working hard and succeeding. A good college education will really pay off when it is time to apply for an occupation.

Goal #4: Go to every continent by the time I am 50. If you're wondering why I chose to go to every continent by the time I'm fifty, it's because I'm going to feel old and not really in the mood for climbing mountains, if you know what I mean. I can't say as I know many 50 year-olds climbing Mt. Everest, but you can do anything if you put your mind to it. This one will be a bit tricky until I'm 16, though, but I have determination. First, I'll have to wait years before I'm 16, so that's a long term step. Then, I'll make the plans to actually go there. That's an easy short term step. Then I'll go there, which is also a short step, because I can just fly there.

Goal #5: Memorize 30 digits of Pi. As you may or may not know, Pi is the number you get when you divide any circle's diameter by it's circumference. That number is infinite, but there is millions of numbers already known. In order to memorize this, I can use certain tools such as grouping these numbers together. e.g 3.14, 15, 92, 65, 35, 89. The short term step is grouping them together, but the long term step is memorizing them successfully, I have the determination to do this.
